Bottom of the Barrel — Our Story
Every great brand has a beginning. Ours started at the bottom — literally.
We’ve made plenty of mistakes, but we’ve worked hard to turn our lives around. We’ve spent most of our lives working in construction — painting, plumbing, electrical, and just about anything else that would pay the bills.
Then our oldest daughter fell in love with horses and barrel racing. Somewhere along the way, so did we. Now we’re going all in on building a future around horses. She’s come a long way in just a few years, without the most expensive horses or gear, and that’s a big part of what this is about.
The “barrel” part started with our barrel racing lifestyle, but Bottom of the Barrel took on a much bigger meaning. It’s about starting at the bottom and proving that where you start doesn’t determine where you end up.
We’ve started a small barrel horse breeding program, and whenever we have the room and opportunity, we take in unwanted horses, put some time into them, and help them become useful horses again. Our hope is to build something we can eventually pass down to our four kids.
From that ranch came the clothing line.
Bottom of the Barrel is for the person who’s made mistakes, gotten knocked down, started over, and had to make the best of what they had. You don’t need the best of everything — or a perfect past — to build something you’re proud of.
We’re building this as a standalone clothing brand, but the clothes are just one piece of a bigger story: horses, hard work, family, second chances, and making something out of what you’ve got.
Start at the bottom. Work your way up. Make the best of it.
That’s Bottom of the Barrel.
